Rev. Dr. Kendrick E. Curry

Rev. Dr. Kendrick E. Curry has served as Pastor of the Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church in DC (Ward 7) for the past 22 years. Dr. Curry has led the church and broader DC communities in addressing the social determinants of poverty and health to improve quality of life in his East of the Anacostia River neighborhood and across DC.

Dr. Curry serves on numerous boards, panels, and working groups, including the Greater Washington Urban League and the Leadership Council for Healthy Communities, where he chairs both boards. He is also a former member of the National Institutes of Health’s National Advisory Council for Minority Health and Health Disparities.

Dr. Curry advocates for senior DC residents 50+ who are aging in place. He is a former DC State President for AARP and an Executive Council Member. He is the proud founding Executive Director of the Village On The Avenue, one of only two senior villages in Ward 7, DC.
